Power Cables

Advantages

Conductors: Power cables typically use copper or aluminum conductors. Copper offers high conductivity and corrosion resistance, while aluminum is lighter and more economical, suitable for high voltage applications and long distances.

Insulation: These cables are equipped with durable insulation that protects the conductors and prevents short circuits. Common insulation materials include PVC, XLPE, and EPR, selected based on specific application needs and environmental conditions.

Shielding: Some power cables feature a metallic shield for additional protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electrical discharges. This shielding can be composed of metal tapes or a braided copper wire screen.

Jacket: The outer jacket provides mechanical protection and additional insulation. It is manufactured using materials such as PVC, polyethylene, CPVC, or others resistant to wear and weathering.

Types of Power Cables:

This cables are available in various types, selected based on nominal voltage, current capacity, application, and local regulations. Common examples include single-core cables (N2XH, NYM), multipolar cables (NYY, YJV), armored cables (N2XSY, YJV22), and medium voltage cables (XLPE-URD, MV-90).
